We really thank from our heart all of ‘em who allowed us to realize and record this album, and all of ‘em who always supported and followed us.
In this CD we want to tell you the story, the musical traditions of the Colitti Family, whose members are nicknamed “I Calanti”, how this name was born, and all the experiences we lived through the years. The record is composed by songs of the musical tradition from Salento and by songs created by us, written by Daniele Colitti with the band’s support: we’d love to mention “Storia ti Calanti”, a song written for us by our friend Antonio Cerfreda and by “Ziu ‘Nzinu” (Uncle Vincenzo), and dedicated to our beloved Uncle Vincenzo to thank him for all the things he taught and did for us. This realize wants to tell you the ancient popular traditions of the Colitti Family, let you know how our band grew up by making up something real to express our passion and the enthusiasm that our Grannies and Uncles transmitted to us.
There goes our latest record “W ci zumpa”, which is sold on the market in a 3 CDs digipack cover. This is a very prestigious album, in all its features: sound and artistic qualities, which contains a DVD of one of our performances, which was taken in Ugento during December 2007, and an audio CD containing all the songs coming straight from the mosto traditional and popular culture of our beautiful land: Salento.
